2014 WOGA Classic brings 1300 athletes from 14 countries to Dallas

The 18th Annual WOGA Classic, which features top female gymnasts from around the world, will be held February 8-9 at the Frisco Convention Center and Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.

Hosted locally by WOGA Gymnastics, the WOGA Classic is one of the largest international gymnastics competitions in the United States. The 2-day international meet will showcase gymnasts competing Level 2 through Elite. The competition is also an excellent opportunity for university coaches/recruiters to scout more than 400 gymnasts competing Level 9, 10 and Elite.

More than 1,300 athletes are entered including 40 elite gymnasts from the following countries: USA, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, China, Brazil, Australia, and Great Britain. Gymnasts ranging in age from 5 to 29 years and from twenty-two states and fourteen countries will be competing in the USAG sanctioned event.

The International Elite Session will be held on Saturday, February 8th at the Dr Pepper Arena. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the competition will begin at 7:00 p.m. Olympic All-Around Champion, Carly Patterson, and World Medalist, Rebecca Bross, will host an autograph session following the Elite Session of the WOGA Classic.

“The WOGA Classic is an excellent opportunity for gymnastics fans in the Dallas Metroplex to see first-hand some of the athletes who will be contending for spots on the 2014 World Championship teams and the 2016 Olympic Teams,” – said WOGA Owner/Head Coach Yevgeny Marchenko. “The field will include U.S. gymnasts who will attempt to qualify for the Visa Championships later this year.”

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase the commitment and teamwork needed to excel in the sport of gymnastics,” said WOGA Owner/Head Coach Valeri Liukin. “It enables our WOGA team and their supporters to welcome some of the finest athletes in the world.”

Established in 1994 and celebrating its 20th anniversary, WOGA Gymnastics will kick-off their 18th Anniversary of the WOGA Classic. Marchenko and Liukin own and operate two WOGA facilities in the Dallas Metroplex Area.
